It’s the question everyone seems to ask after pet loss. But while there's no universal right answer, there are some simple questions worth asking yourself before you decide.
Very soon after getting my very first cat, it became clear that he, Mika, was unhappy on his own - even if I just stayed away overnight. It took me a few more months to make a decision bc I was a new cat owner..and TWO cats just seemed so overwhelming. But I had to think of what was best for him. So I took the plunge and I picked up Mio, a tiny kitten. Now I had read A LOT about introducing cats and how bad it could get. And my place was tiny. So I put Mika in the kitchen, closed the door and gave Mio the run of the place. Mika began scratching wildly. I realised I had to take a leap of faith: So I opened the door not knowing if all hell would break loose.... there was no need to worry. Mio went straight to Mika and brushed against his body. And Mika instantly loved her. They did EVERYthing together after that even sleeping. Sometimes you get a cat for you and sometimes you get one for your cat!
