Absolutely. Those little moments seem to mean even more when you know they won't last forever. Wishing the best for everyone going through this with their pets.

My 11.5 yr old boy, Buzz Lightyear, has been a healthy and happy portuguese water dog for most of his life - he's the friendly guy saying hello to people, animals, looking for all of the pets and loves the water and fetching a ball every chance he got. On June 4th, he had an emergency splenectomy for a ruptured tumor that came out of nowhere, fast. We just received the biopsy results of his tumor that informed us of hemangiosarcoma and as a first time pet mom, learning and experiencing this all at once hold such a range of emotions from grief to guilt while trying so hard to be present. Thanks for writing this. I needed it.
