So beautifully said and so very heartfelt and true. Thank you. I hope you had a lovely, day off from doing all you do, love filled Mother’s Day. Sharing your writing with many family members and friends who love animals, are involved in the doing of rescues & shelters and foster care and senior dog rescue, care & adoption, forever home finders etc. Like Muttville in S.F. and more. 🙏🩷💜🩵🤍
And it’s really beautiful that you’re sharing it with people who live that same kind of love for animals and rescue work. They’ll understand that mix of joy, devotion, and heartbreak in a very real way. 🩷💜🩵
Wishing you and Lilo gentle, steady days together for as long as they’re here with you. ❤️
Thank you so much for this. Someone wished me a happy Mother’s Day as a dog mom, and it was so appreciated. When you mentioned hamster moms, I was brought back to being a young girl, learning everything I could about hamsters and how to care for them before adopting one of my own. Animals tend to us as well. And we do nurture and mother other living beings, and it’s lovely to call that out and show appreciation. Thank you to all the mothers and fathers out there, of other humans and animals alike.
I love how you put that, animals truly do tend to us as much as we tend to them. That mutual care is so real, whether it’s a dog, a hamster, or any little life we get the privilege to look after. 🐹💛
And yes… there’s something really special about being seen in that “dog mom” or caregiver role. It is nurturing, it is love, and it deserves to be honored. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for sharing that. 🤍🐾 Those tears are such a beautiful reminder of how deeply we love and are loved by our animals. Sending you warmth and blessings. 🌺🤎
