It’s been 7 months and I’ve been crying hard again today. Cried through your whole article. Not everyday anymore. I did appreciate what I had…really every moment. I knew I loved my Wilson maybe even more than I should. It was a significant relationship like you point out. I appreciate so much you trying to help us find perspective and peace in our pet grief. It is surprising to me how hard I’ve grieved. I’ve learned so much through it. I need another dog soon. I always said I’d wait, but I want to get to know and love another dog. Thank you for sharing your experiences with pet loss. Thank you for the acknowledgment of how much we miss our dog-baby. ❤️🐾

I hear you Jackie. What you're carrying today is real, even 7 months out, grief doesn't run on a schedule, and the fact that it's still this present means how much Wilson mattered.

Crying through the whole article, appreciating every moment you had, knowing you loved him maybe "more than you should", that's not too much. That was a significant relationship, exactly like you said. And what you're describing, learning so much through the grieving itself, is part of how deep that bond was.

Thank you for sharing Wilson with us, and for trusting this space with something so tender. Wanting to open your heart to another dog when you're ready is its own kind of testament to how much love you have to give. There's no wrong timeline for that either❤️.
